Elena Smirnova
Elena Smirnova is a professional textile artist. She started with painting on silk and cotton. Elena has been working for five years as a theater costume designer in Tver (near Moscow).
Theatre has played a crucial role in Elena's life. Friends call her "feerie woman", and she is a real perpetuum mobile of Russian felting … She writes poetry, draws, dances, makes photos and videos. Elena teaches a lot and takes part in many exhibitions. She is an author of many collections; her felted garments are colorful and very feminine.

Elena lives in Sankt Petersburg, her favorite city which is sometimes called Northern Venice, and her works are in harmony with this city. Elena invented a lot of her special techniques which she shares with her students.
